Dissemination Programme

UKRIO contributes to the national and international promotion of integrity in research. This involves discussion of our work at conferences and other events, giving lectures and case study workshops, as well as articles in academic journals and in the press. Recent audiences include the Association of Research Managers and Administrators, TurnItIn (formerly the JISC Plagiarism Advisory Service) and the NHS National Clinical Assessment Service.

Sessions are designed to share good practice in the conduct of research and pass on the lessons that UKRIO has learnt through its advice and guidance services. The focus is on raising awareness of research integrity, providing practical and useful support on how to avoid or address common issues and using illustrative case studies to demonstrate how situations can arise and be resolved.

If your organisation would be interested in learning more about good practice in research, research misconduct or the work of UKRIO, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Conferences and workshops on research integrity

As part of our dissemination programme, UKRIO has co-sponsored or contributed to a number of major conferences and workshops on research integrity and misconduct in research.

In September 2011, UKRIO contributed to the JISC Research Integrity Conference: the importance of good data management. James Parry, Acting Head of UKRIO, discussed the challenges facing institutions from our unique perspective and some common issues and pitfalls relating to data management. His presentation and those of the other speakers, as well as conference videos, session summaries and other resources, can be found on JISC’s webpages for the event: JISC Research Integrity Conference hub

Information on past events which UKRIO has been involved with is also available.

A number of other events are in the planning stage and further information will be posted here as soon as it becomes available.
